To blog or not to blog?

To blog or not to blog?
Well obviously you know my answer!

As I sit here writing my first blog post I think back on my resistance to the idea of a blog. When I started working on my website redesign in 2010, my web designer argued that I needed to incorporate a blog into the design. Knowing how busy I am, I reasoned that I didn’t have the time to maintain an interesting blog. That required multiple posts a month and I couldn’t imagine fitting that time in among all the client work.

Well as you can see, my web designer ended up winning that argument. Four years later I’ve decided that incorporating a blog into my website is a really good idea. That change of heart comes from two places.

(1) First, I’m very interested in writing. I’d like to write more articles and even someday perhaps a book. Although as a market research consultant I write every day, this somehow feels different.

(2) I really enjoy being a resource for market research related information. Colleagues regularly reach out for feedback, research design approaches and my favorite – brainstorming sessions. I love the challenge of coming up with a good way to ask a question or a designing a projective technique that’s a perfect fit for the research situation. And of course I love the creative energy that comes out of two minds working together.

So, now that my desire to share my experience and team with others is officially in print, feel free to reach out so we too can discuss that best approach for that research challenge and learn from each other while doing it.

You know where to find me. nancy@hardwickresearch.com

About our blog

I’m so glad you have found your way here. I’m Nancy Hardwick, owner of Hardwick Research. I have been conducting market research studies for more years than I should count. In 1994, after the birth of my son, I started Hardwick Research. I love my job, especially the part where I am able to creatively help clients learn more about the way people think and why they do the things they do. This blog provides me an opportunity to share my insights and experience in the market research industry, but it’s also a chance to have some fun.
